Once upon a time, there was a magical kingdom that existed only in dreams.

Selenga stepped through its gates, not immediately noticing anything unusual. Then she heard someone passing by whisper, “What beautiful weather.”

And just like that, the sky cleared. The sun broke through the clouds.

Selenga stopped in her tracks. "What's happening here?"

A child beside her smiled. “Welcome to the Land of Words. Here, everything spoken becomes real.”

The Power of Words

Selenga walked carefully through the kingdom, watching everything around her.

A man shouted in frustration, “This will never work!” His project crumbled to pieces and fell to the ground.

A girl whispered with confidence, “I can do this.” The obstacle before her shrank, and she walked right through.

A boy cried out, “Nobody loves me.” The flowers around him wilted and faded.

Another child cheered, “My friends are amazing!” Sunshine burst all around him, bright and warm.

The Dark Clouds

Selenga came upon a neighborhood covered in dark, heavy clouds.

“Why is it so gloomy here?” she asked.

“This is Complaint Street,” her guide explained. "Everyone complains constantly. Their words become dark clouds. The sun hasn't shined here in ages."

Selenga stepped into the neighborhood and listened.

“The rain never stops,” someone complained.

Rain began to fall.

“Things never change,” another voice added.

The words piled up, and the clouds grew darker and thicker.

One Word Changes Everything

Selenga stood in the center of the street and thought carefully. Then she spoke clearly and loudly:

“This neighborhood has wonderful things.”

Everyone paused.

“There are beautiful trees. There are roads. The homes are warm.”

A small ray of sunlight broke through and touched the ground.

One person continued, “Our neighbors help each other.”

The light grew brighter.

Another added, “Our children are healthy and safe.”

The dark clouds began to separate and drift away.

More people spoke. They shared good things. And slowly, the dark clouds dissolved completely, revealing blue sky.

The Choice We Make

As evening fell, Selenga left the magical kingdom and woke up.

She thought about her dream.

Wasn't real life the same way?

Whenever she said "I can't,“ things felt harder. When she said ”I'll try," they became easier.

When she thought “Nobody likes me,” she felt lonely. When she believed “People are kind,” the world opened up to her.

The Land of Words might not be real, but words still held incredible power.

From that day on, Selenga paid attention to what she said.

And slowly, something small but important changed.

Frequently Asked Questions

**Are words really that powerful?** Absolutely. The words we speak affect both ourselves and those around us. When we say “I can do this,” our brain actually works differently. We become more creative and persistent.

**What happens if we say negative things?** In real life, negativity slowly becomes our reality. Our words create beliefs, and beliefs create habits. Over time, what we say shapes who we become.

A Note for Parents

This story powerfully illustrates the importance of positive self-talk and the words children use. After reading, ask your child: “What did you say about yourself today?” This simple question can transform how they think about their own potential and the world around them.
