A Birthday Surprise

Selenga unwrapped her birthday gift.

A big, colorful paint box. Inside were 24 different colors.

She opened the lid.

And the paints started talking.

"I'm the most beautiful," said Red.

“No, I am,” said Blue.

"You're both wrong. I'm Yellow — I'm the sun!" said Yellow.

Selenga froze. “Are you... talking?”

“Yes,” said Red. "And I'm telling you, I'm the most beautiful."

The Great Paint Argument

“What would you do without me?” demanded Red. “Roses are red. Blood is red. Apples are red. Without me, the world is dull.”

"Without me, there's no sky,“ Blue shot back. ”No ocean. No peace."

"Without me, there's no earth,“ Brown chimed in. ”No tree bark."

“Without me, darkness has no light,” Yellow added proudly.

“But I—” Purple started.

Selenga raised her hand. “Stop.”

They all went quiet.

"You're each beautiful on your own. Fine. But let me show you something."

The Rainbow Painting

Selenga grabbed a piece of paper.

"I'm going to paint a rainbow."

She picked up Red and drew a line.

“Just red. Is it beautiful?”

"It's nice, but...“ Red admitted. ”It's just one line."

Selenga added Orange. Then Yellow. Green. Blue. Purple.

“Now?”

The paints looked at the paper.

“Oh,” whispered Red.

"That's beautiful," said Blue.

“Really beautiful,” said Yellow.

“Is that...” Purple asked softly, “is that us?”

“All of you,” Selenga said. “Together.”

The Lesson

“Alone, we were just one color,” Red said slowly.

“Together, we became a rainbow,” Blue realized.

“I never thought about it that way,” Yellow admitted.

Selenga smiled. "People are like that too. Everyone's different. But together, we're more beautiful."

The paints stayed quiet for a moment.

Then Red spoke: "I'm sorry, Blue. I said I was the most beautiful. But without you, the rainbow wouldn't be complete."

"I'm sorry too," said Blue.

“Me too,” added Yellow.

Selenga laughed. “Now I can really paint.”

And that day, she created her most beautiful picture ever — using every single color.

Why Is Everyone Different?

Because together, our differences make us stronger. A world with just one color wouldn't be beautiful at all.

Is It Okay to Argue?

Arguing is normal. What matters is saying sorry and working together afterward.
