Meet Selenga
"Good morning! I'm Selenga. Every time your child wakes up, we open this chart together and decide what we'll do today. Once all the tasks are done, you'll see how amazing they feel by evening!"
Why Use a Daily Task Chart?
Children thrive with structure and routine. When kids know what's coming next, their entire day becomes more productive and positive.
Research shows that children who follow a structured summer schedule don't experience the typical "summer learning loss" when they return to school in September. In fact, they often come back stronger.
This chart recommends just 2 hours of planned activities per day. Everything else is completely free play.

Daily Surprise Task
Parents secretly write a surprise task each morning. Kids discover it after lunch. Example tasks:
- "Give someone a genuine compliment today"
- "Do 10 push-ups"
- "Write a kind note to a neighbor"
- "Pack your own backpack"
- "Try not to complain today"
How to Use the Chart
Morning (5 minutes): Place the chart on the table. Fill in the activities together. Ask: "Which activity would you like to do first?"
Throughout the day: Check off completed tasks. Add stickers or color in boxes as you go.
Evening (5 minutes): Ask: "Which activity did you enjoy most today?" This simple conversation becomes a cherished family tradition.
30-Day Badge System
Motivate completion with achievement badges:
- Complete 20+ days → Gold Badge
- Complete 15-19 days → Silver Badge
- Complete 10-14 days → Bronze Badge
Reward Ideas
Rewards don't need to be expensive:
- Let your child choose where the family goes next
- Your child plans a special family dinner
- Movie night at home with blankets and snacks
- Permission to pick a new book
Common Questions
Do we have to complete all four sections? No. Even three activities is wonderful. The key is maintaining consistency.
What if my child can't write yet? They can draw pictures, place stickers, or you can write for them.
Can my child choose the same activity every day? Absolutely. If they're choosing the same activity, they're building strength in that area. Let them continue.
Should we print the chart or use a digital version? Printed charts work better. Children form stronger connections with physical, tactile materials.
Important Note for Parents
Don't tie the chart to rewards or punishments. Keep motivation internal and positive. Instead of "No tablet if you don't finish," try "Once you finish, let's pick out ice cream together." End each evening by asking: "What was the best part of your day?"
